Freedom
The obstacles I faced were going through my life without grandparents, overcoming the desire to commit suicide and remaining free of that desire. When I was 12, I moved to California with my family and had to adjust to making new friends, then we moved back to Pennsylvania to recover from my father’s death. I also had to overcome a hospitalization in a mental institution. I recovered in one year, but just before that I tried to commit suicide. I’m glad I didn’t succeed.
As a child I loved art. That love followed me through my life to the present time. Most of my art is self-taught. In high school I picked up a few tips about the color wheel, shading techniques, how to use different mediums and a little about crafts. I like the kind of art that I do because I feel free and have freedom of expression.
