Since 2005, the Alabama Department of Mental Health has hosted a consumer art show at Alabama's state capitol. Consumers from around the state with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders are invited to have their abilities showcased throughout the month of May in the capitol in observance of National Mental Health Month.
Visit the show in the Old Supreme Court Library of the Alabama State Capitol located at 600 Dexter Ave, Montgomery, AL 36130. The capitol building is open 8am-4pm Monday - Friday, and 9am-3pm on Saturdays.
