My illness began in 2000 when my father died and my family did not want me. I started at ADS in 2007 when I was in the nursing home and I lived in the community. My illness is Bi-Polar. The teachers and Center of Hope have helped me on my journey of recovery. I have learned to act on my triggers in a way that keeps me on track. The work crew has helped me know I can do things on my own.
 
Alabama Recovery Institute has helped me know I can do things on my own too. Art has helped me relax and have something to live for by expressing feelings. ADS helped me deal with my problems and do things on my own. The Showcase helped me get into public and deal with my fears.
